Watercolour pencils…for a change…

Hello there, and how are we all today? It is a sunny, if not very windy,  day here today.  My Son has had another party to go to today so has missed footy training this week but it’s back to normal on the homework front – yippee (not!)  My Daughter came back quite late last night from her school trip to London – shattered, but having had an amazing time.  I want to make her a little memory book with the photo’s she took while she was there, a nice memento of her visit. Anyway, I hope you have had a good week and are now enjoying the weekend 🙂

For this week’s card I thought I would dig out my watercolour pencils. Now, in all the time that I have had these I can remember only using them 3 or 4 times for projects!  This is a little bit naughty of me really.  Must use them more often!  I have seen a lot of watercolouring on lots of blogs lately which is what gave me the idea this week.  The image that I have used is a stamp by ‘Scruffy Little Cat’ from ‘Crafters Companion’.  I enjoyed using pencils for a change and I might use them a bit more in the future by using them to create a wash on card backgrounds –  better than being sat in a box doing nothing for years at a time!  That’s all from me for this week.  Thank you for stopping by, have a fab week ahead and take care – Karen 🙂 (Sorry about the fuzziness on the photo on the left below!)

I used: Paper’s from MME ‘Boy Crazy’, Tim Holtz Rosette strip die, Spellbinders Postage die, Epoxy sticker, Sequins, Sentiment stamp from Clearly Besotted and Image stamp by Scruffy Little Cat’.

  1. Hi Karen 🙂
I started with watercolour pencils too, I really should use them more because I love images coloured this way, they give a whole new look and textured effect to colouring. These days I use them more for extra shading on top of my promarkers.
Your card is lovely, look at those lashes! *flutters*
Loving the lush rosette too 😉
Have a fab weekend, weather is quite nice here in the midlands for a change eh?
    Jo xx

  2. Hi Jo, thanks for looking at my blog and for your lovely comment 🙂 That’s a great tip about using pencils for extra shading on top of pens – will be giving that a go! You have a great weekend too and enjoy this nice weather…. while we can!
    Karen xx
